Drivers and Bicyclists Learn to Share the Road

For fun, exercise or to commute, more people are riding bikes these days. Bicycle riders using streets have the same legal rights and responsibilities as those driving motorized vehicles, so you need to know how to safely share the road.

Before making a turn, look twice. If a bike rider is about to pass in front of you, make sure there's at least three feet of space available for them to move across. When you're driving alongside a cyclist, check to see if you both have enough room. If not, let the rider go ahead so they have the entire lane. When you need to pass the cyclist, make sure there are no other vehicles in the way before doing so.

Our team at Charlie's Pre-Owned can give you more safety tips when you visit our Augusta location to test drive a vehicle.
