Spare Tires Are Not Created Equally

Did you know that there is a difference in the type of spare tires? Depending on the manufacturer, you may have a full-size spare or a compact temporary spare (also known as a “donut”).

Typically, a full-size spare matches the aesthetics of your specific vehicle, which means you can drive longer in Augusta before having the flat replaced. However, a "donut" is specifically designed for limited use. You need to make immediate arraignments to replace the flat because that type of spare should not be used for more than the miles that the manufacturer deems appropriate. With a "donut," your driving experience may also be different than you’re accustomed to. It’s nothing to be alarmed about, but you should expect a different ride and possibly decreased handling ability.
